Featured Charity October: FUCAM

MEET LIZBETH

Lizbeth was diagnosed with breast cancer on April 22nd of this year, her diagnosis was made in FUCAM, she knew about the institution because of a close friend of her that was also diagnosed and treated there as well.

Lizbeth shared with us about how she found out that she was ill, and the impact this had on her life and her family's. To accept and acknowledge the disease is the hardest part, but in FUCAM she was received very warmly, they helped her to reduce her anxiety and stress levels significantly. She told us about how after getting to know all the doctors, the personal staff and the institution facilities she felt really safe and got to trust them immediately.

She started with chemotherapy in the early beginnings of May, chemo is the most difficult and painful part, luckily on October 5th she had her last chemotherapy session and now she is waiting to receive the results of her studies to begin with surgery and radiotherapy, but the doctor says she is looking good and she has had a great improvement.

Lizbeth's is only one of the many FUCAM life changing stories, it teaches us to never hesitate on reaching for help when we need it because it may be the difference between a happy or a sad ending story.
