Fundación para la Asistencia Educativa I.A.P. (FAE)
What they do
The Fundación para la Asistencia Educativa, I.A.P. (FAE), was founded in 1989 by Fr. Jesuita Roberto Guevara with the construction of the first day-care centre in the Colonia El Sol in Ciudad Nezahualcóyotl, an area where families employed by the waste management system live.In 1992 FAE began working in the Colonia Tlatel-Xochitenco in Chimalhuacán, home to over 577 children.
In 1995, they inaugurated their medical and dental clinic, which is open seven days a week, and has provided for over 17,000 patients.
In 2001, FAE began the “Improve your Home” program which assists families in the area to upgrade their homes; by rehabilitating roofs or floors and paying only 30-50% of the total renovation cost. For 500 pesos worth, you can donate educational games.
